A Novel Approach
Financing a self-sustaining community requires a fresh perspective. Eco Village Funding challenges traditional models by introducing innovative, community-driven financial solutions that make sustainable living more accessible.
Funding Suggestions:
- The initial purchase of farm land, the rezoning, subdivision and sale to community members (a typical property development phase).
- End user funding to enable community members to purchase their hectare of land in their hamlet of choice.
- The development funding, to establish the enterprise, to build a home, to provide energy, etc.
Rethinking Funding
Buy 1m² of land and become a member of the community! Become an ambassador, an evangelist. The crowd funding will be used for the initial purchase of development land and development profit will be allocated to your account.
For the initial purchase of the farm on which the eco village will be established, end user commitment can be used for the initial purchase.
Impact investors will be invited in the property development phase. Patient capital is preferred.
Traditional funding, in the form of mortgage loans, with security against a title deed, will always be available.
Where land is owned communally, the community will raise its own funding.
Community members with the financial means will be encouraged to extend loans to younger members, thus enabling them to ultimately own and build their land.
It is time to rethink finance and to think post financial extraction.
